Dress warmly like this!

We provide shelter from the elements, all tools and equipment needed for activities, hot or cold drinks and biscuits and first aid.

PLEASE NOTE: CURRENTLY DUE TO COVID 19, WE ARE SORRY THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO SERVE REFRESHMENTS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS AND A SMALL SNACK IF REQUIRED, SUCH AS A BISCUIT OR AN APPLE, BUT NOT A PICNIC LUNCH. PLEASE TRY TO HAVE LUNCH BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR FOREST SCHOOL SESSION. THIS WILL HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS AND YOU HAVE MORE TIME TO PLAY.  PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GO FOR A PICNIC ELSEWHERE IN THE WOODS AFTER YOUR SESSION.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS.

What will you need to bring and wear?

You don’t need to bring much but please dress prepared for the British weather (four seasons in one day!).

You should therefore bring the following items, and for health and safety reasons we may restrict attendance without the items marked with an asterisk:

  • A waterproof jacket *

  • Long trousers (not shorts!) *

  • Walking boots, wellingtons or sensible stout shoes.*

  • Waterproof trousers – these are great to help keep participants warm and dry and help prevent injury from brambles and stinging nettles.

  • Water bottle

  • Sun cream

  • Hat for sun or cold

  • Long sleeved tops

  • Gloves

“Waterproof trousers are so handy; I would not do without them, not only do they keep the rain off and and the wind out, but wearing them means you can kneel or sit down anywhere and not get damp and best of all, you don’t snag your legs on brambles and gorse – I love wearing mine”-Sarah
Most importantly-bring waterproofs!
Wear your wellies! Or walking boots. SORRY, BUT; NO BOOTS = NO ENTRY 🙁

*Important: without appropriate clothing and footwear as outlined above (with asterisk) you might not be permitted to attend

Layering of clothes is best, and thermals in winter can make you more comfortable.

Please bring a packed lunch if your session is over lunch time, unless otherwise arranged.
